With Hip-Hop going into a weird thug-pop sort of thing , its always refreshing to hear something of substance. Local Khemistry BKA Khemist , is the epitome of substance is filling the void of raw progressive lyrical content the industry is lacking.



Khemist began writing music at the age of 14. Growing up in the heart of North Philadelphia, Khemist was not oblivious to the poverty, crime, and misfortune around him.In March of 2010, Khemist was honored for his dedication to his education, his community, and his artistry as a writer and emcee by The Jr. Music Executive Program. Khemist received the Diamond in the Rough Award from the organization, of which he has been an active member. His big break came in April 2010, when he performed at 100.3 The Beat’s Philly Home Jamz Concert at the Trocadero. Khemist’s performance was cited as one of the best of the night by some of the most respected figures in the Philadelphia music community. Other performers included Freeway, Gillie Da Kid, Chill Moody, and Meek Mill.

Currently a print journalism major at Hampton University, Khemist has built a dedicated audience in both Virginia and Philadelphia. During the summer of 2011 Khemist was honored to perform on the NBC 10! Show, NBC6 Live Miami, at SOBs in New York City, and for Vitaminwater Uncapped in Philadelphia. As a breakout artist he was also featured in a Philly 360 Spotlight and on Fuse TV’s Hip Hop Shop.

So apparently changing up his beat is that " sh!t he don't like " , Young Chop ( The Producer of Chicago native Chief Keef 's " I Don't Like " record ) tweeted approxiamtly  20 minutes ago , " smh " in response to Kanye changing adding a melody and a few other sounds to his remixed version of the song which features Jadakiss , and his G.O.O.D music artist Pusha-T & Big Sean. Earlier today Chop spoke with DJ Moon Dawg and expressed his anger. “They did not ask me to change up sh-- in my beat. They don’t have no files to none of my sh--, so how the f--k did they add another melody over the instrumental,” he ranted. “These motherf--kers is playin’ me and I don’t give two f--ks, I will sue the sh-- out of Kanye West. I made a f--kin’ sound, so you supposed to stay with my f--kin’ sound,” he said. “If I was him I wouldn’t need to change the f--kin’ beat up, the beat is f--kin’ hard by itself.” All in all both version's of the beat were dope in my opinion ,but clearly the G.O.O.D music version was filled with more lyrical content , no shade to Chief Kief though he doing his thing , s/o Tevin McNeil ( CEO of FlyTree Ent. ) for putting me on !

JeWon Yu joined Levi Straus & Co. in September of 2007 and currently acts as the Global Senior Designer, Men’s. Originally from Los Angeles, she now resides in the Mission district of San Francisco and spends her days spearheading the look and feel of Levi’s styled products. With their recent launch of the COMMUTER series, it was JeWon who spent a year devoted to the conception of the collection, a line of goods with the commuting mind at the pulse of the creative design. Here, we spoke with the talented Yu about digging into the brands archives and reinventing historic sensibilities with a modern sartorial approach.






" It was important that the product was not tricked out or flashy – it had to look like a Levi’s product first and foremost. We wanted to use our fabrics, not what was already out there and readily available to everyone. That proved to be the most challenging aspect as we married technology that is near impossible to achieve on a mostly cotton product. But we made it happen with a team of very talented people. In today’s rap game few MC’s possess the knowledge, skills, and finesse of hip-hop’s legends of yesteryear. Yet, out of the burrows of New Orleans’ 8th ward rose a lyricists with the phenomenal talent and unmistakable potential to revive the hip-hop game as we know it. Quest began his career in the entertainment industry at the age of five as a local child actor and model. Soon after, he began writing poetry and taking piano lessons. By 15 Quest’s exceptional spoken word performances were gaining admiration and recognition in both New Orleans and its surrounding areas. He competed in and won numerous local and national poetry competitions; one being the world renowned “Brave New Voices Youth Speaks Spoken Word Competition.” Before graduating high school Quest began producing music and began competing in numerous beat competitions. Most notable is his win at "Soundclash" and selected for a spot in "Red Bull's Big Tune" competition; thus, granting him the opportunity to work with nearly every artist in his city. Today Quest isn’t just a dope MC; he’s a multifaceted artist. An artist, who through hard work and dedication has earned such titles as community activist, poet, spoken word artist, emcee, producer, audio engineer, videographer, and inspiration.









Here is his new album " Quest-ions " which is now available on i-Tunes and Amazon. I was reminded of what I use to enjoy about hip-hop when I was listening to the project. I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars easily. Looking foward to hearing more from Quest.

Washington, DC--- March 26, 2012- Following the major success of her documentary internet series, the TazMania Show, Anceztaz Clothing Line CEO & Founder, Taz, released her debut much anticipated mixtape, Late Nights to Fame, Vol. 1, hosted by WPGC’s DJ Reddz on April 27, 2012. Go! Pop! Bang! is the upcoming début studio album by American rapper Rye Rye. It is to be released on N.E.E.T. Recordings, an imprint of Interscope Records. Recording started in 2008, with mentor and label boss M.I.A. at hand. M.I.A. took a pivotal role in recording at first, bringing in hip-hop producer Arabian Prince and dance music veteran Egyptian Lover to help record the album.[2] Together they helped to produce tracks such as Bang and Rye Rye's first official single Sunshine.[3] However, Rye Rye became pregnant in 2009, postponing the release of Go! Pop! Bang!. This would set in motion a series of delays which have to date prevented the album's release. Even so, Rye Rye continued to create music during this period, working with renowned music producers Bangladesh and Pharrell. In Spring 2012, Rye Rye released her third and final single off of Go! Pop! Bang!, Boom Boom, accompanied with a music video.
